Make sure to connect the modules in the following order:
Connect the Avansia printer to the laminator through the connector module or serial cable
Connect the laminator to the supply network through the power supply unit and wait for the laminator to be fully powered on: LED power button stops blinking and laminator initialization is finished.
Connect the Avansia printer to the supply network. Now push on the power button. Wait for the initialization to be finished (Printer status: “Ready”)
Hibernation mode on the lamination module may cause card jam when you print cards, as the cards will be blocked between the printer and the lamination module.
In case of:
- prolonged inactivity of the lamination module (by default, this parameter is set on 30 minutes)
- a long press on the power on/off button (when firmware version is 1944),
then the lamination module enters into hibernation mode.
A lamination module that has entered the hibernation mode is not seen anymore by the Avansia printer.
In this configuration, launching a print job restarts Avansia printer but does not restart the lamination module. The Avansia Print Center indicates that the printer is “Ready”, but it does not mean that the lamination module is also ready.
In this case, make sure to follow the steps below:
Power off the Avansia printer
Leave the hibernation mode on the laminator with a brief press (1 second) on the power on/off button of the LED control panel and wait for the initialization to be finished
